All individuals in this issue appear in the Heroes Reborn pocket universe/Counter Earth created by Franklin Richards. This occurs after most of the Marvel Heroes battled Onslaught and appeared to perish in the battle.
Captain America (Steve Rogers) is depicted on the cover with an Eagle/SHIELD logo on his cowl. This is a visible deviation from his original uniform. He has had an "A" centered on his cowl since Captain America Comics 1 (1941).
Lunk's name is revealed to be Gus in Captain America Vol 2 #4..
