Flash Gordon is a space opera comic strip created by Alex Raymond, with Sunday pages drawn by Raymond from 1934 to 1944. Ausrin Briggs began drawing a daily strip in 1940; after Raymond's departure, Briggs took over the Sunday page. Flash Gordon ran as a Sunday page from January 7, 1934 to March 16, 2003, when it went into reruns. Flash Gordon daily strips ran from May 27, 1940 to June 3, 1944; and from November 19, 1951, to July 3, 1993. Mac Raboy drew the Sunday pages from 1948 to 1967. Dan Barry drew Flash Gordon dailies from 1951 to 1990, and Sunday strips from 1967 to 1990.
